On the 12th September a group of us are sailing out from Rathnmines Park on Lake Macquarie NSW across to the lakes enterance and then down to, Pulbah Island for lunch. Then around Pulbah and take an easy sail back home. It should be a round trip of about 25 kms. We have 4 AI's so far and if you are interested in joining us, you are more than welcome. Stay tuned for times and maps etc.

What is the largest number of AI's that have been in the one photo ?

Be careful what you wish for CGM. You may have just sentenced us to a 40 knot gale .

I Googled Balmoral Bash and it seemed to be all about kayak fishing, mainly from Hobie kayaks. Were there any Adventure Islands?

Don't know too much about the last one but I believe they want to do more of an AI get together.

I sent them a link to this forum the other day so they could let people know about our outing. Apparently there's been a fair few AIs sold lately but we don't seem to get many new people here on the forum.

I'm think'n the same. I've heard that the AI sales are up but where are they? I can't believe that on Lake Macquarie I haven't yet seen another AI. There is another one, I know, but with all the interest that I get when I go out ( which I'm sure is the same for you ) you would think the Lake would have heaps of them. And for me, forums like this one go hand in hand with the sport and are so valuable to what we do. Why wouldn't you be part of it if you have an AI ?

I'll get down off the soap box now!

They say 12 but unless anyone can show us a photo with more than 4, I think we hold the Australian, if not the world, record. Congratulations fellas.

I guess there is a significant number of people who don't know about these forums. I could have discovered the Hobie kayaks, demoed one and then bought one all without ever coming into contact with the forum. I like to do some reseach first. Some people only go looking when there's a problem.

Others may be mainly interested in other specific activities such as fishing, camping etc and hang out on other forums.

Personally I think there's a real community spirit here and enjoy visiting.

Perhaps the the dealers could include a card or sticker pointing people here with each sale.

As this is an official Hobie run site, why not include the details on all sales and promotional stuff. The support here is one of Hobies strongest selling points, that should clinch the deal if people are wavering on what brand to buy.

Here, here. Couldn't agree more. I reckon it's a marketing no brainer.

Well just had my 3 weeks of leave approved at work. Now to plan some serious AI sailing. Hope this wind calms down a little. It's been rather "brisk" here.
