OK, soon as my go-dammit unimaran sells I'm buying a 20. The one we want (a 2000) will likely sell too quick and we may end up with an older boat.

Seem to remember talk of problems with the early mylar sails (i.e. delamination?) and talk of different manufacturers in the early days. I love the North CDL's on my mono, but they're 2005 models.

What manufacturer or what year mylar sails are suspect? Did the Miracle 20 originally have mylar?

I'm trying to avoid the "congrats on the new 20, but your going to need new sails"

I don't think there is a bad year of Mylar on the H20 sails.

The worst Mylar stories came from old Hobie 21SE and some years of the 17 and 18SX mylar / dacron.

John, I have a '95 boat and the original sails on it are like new. The previous owner used them too, so I guess they are tougher than you may think.
See you in Des Moines (with the 20??)
