I will have some money burning a hole in my pocket and am thinking I like the Hobie sails (North?) Anyway can you get them? US, Australia?

I like this one a lot.

that's interesting...the 2009-2010 catalogue does not list sails for 17's or 20's (at least on the sail page in the front)

BTW, that sail pattern is named "SMOKE"

But they are listed in the parts diagrams.

52991000 SAIL H17/SPT MAIN WHITE $1232.00
52991074 SAIL H17/SPT MAIN SMOKE $1340.00
52991991 SAIL H17/SPT MAIN SPEC $1480.00

Yes, not on the web site either. Thats what made me question the availability. Thanks.

The website relates directly to available options for new boat purchases. I only listed top sellers in the catalog sail page due to space / sales volume issues. All others are shown in the numerical section and parts guides.

Ahh yes, the balancing of the catalog pages, I remember that well. Thanks for the insight.

If you don't race you might want to consider an after market sail. I really like my Whirlwind Super R Squaretop Pentex @ $1200.00. http://www.whirlwindsails.com/

I have to second fastcat on the aftermarket idea. I bought an older 17 w/ what I think are the original sail and a somewhat newer Hobie class legal sail. They are both toast. It seems to me that the dacron/mylar(?) laminate cloth is a bad idea for a sail that wants so much downhaul. I also have a Pentex square-top from Whirlwind with not much time on it... so far it's awesome. Considerably more power and– it just looks right. If you go that way, figure on ~$1500 with battens & shipping
