Anybody know what they have for Hobies at the Couples resorts in Jamaica? I'm booking a trip tonight to go to Ocho Rios (Tower Isle), next month... can't wait to sail in warm blue waters!!!! They say they have Hobie cats and from what I've heard, most people just go out in the lasers and stuff so a cat sailer like me should have a cat at my disposal the entire week.

your going to be looking @ waves. when my parents go they always take a rudder came kit with them so they can fix the boat the go sailing! Maybe they have upgraded to the ez loc system to eliminate this problem.

Me and the Mrs and the Bommersbachs will be in Ocho Rios next week, so we'll ask around and see what they got and for how much.

That's pretty smart, since its really the only thing that can go really wrong with a Wave.
I sail all the time, so I am going to snorkle, attack the wife and eat everything I can get my hands on instead of put put around on a rented Wave. If I see some rentals though, I'll make note and get that info back here on the forum.

No need to worry about how much... I'm going to couples, it's all included. ;)

So, I'm assuming, I don't need to worry about bringing a harness?

Waves have no trap lines. You won't get up any real speed. Most of the vacation resorts put a big knot in the mainsheet so you can't travel or sheet in enough to turn the boat over. If its real windy or rough they won't let you go out anyway. Also, don't expect them to just give you the boat and say goodbye. You usually sign them out in one hour increments whether anyone else is waiting or not.

LOL, I was thinking about taking my own life jacket as I have a nice extrasport one.... but maybe I'll just use what they have cause my luggage space will be at a premium.

I will, however, join the group of people who have sailed naked while I'm down there!

Wish there was an H16 there!

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with that. For insurance reasons they will probably make you use theirs anyway, like river rafting companies do.
