Fox has almost no racing. needs a good crew.
Tiger has good racing fleet and is alot more managable for the crew.

The difference is like going from a Chevy Malibu to a Ferrari - including the cost of upkeep.

Consider the Hobie 20. It's a great boat with an active racing class. Used ones can be found at very reasonable prices. Look through the classifieds on this forum or at http://www.thebeachcats.com, craigs list, ebay, etc. There's usually a few out there. I just finished my first season on the 20 and had a blast.

Come on Matt. Give us a break. At least give us the rateing of a Chevy Malibu 427 with 2-4 barrel carbs's. Well, actually I think the 327 performed better, especially blown. Oh, well. What the heck. A Chevy Malibu it is.

Depends on where you live and what you want to do with the boat.

If you live in the North East or Northern California and you want to race and are light weight you would pick the H16. If you are planning on racing where there are no established fleets and would be sailing Portsmouth or some other handicap then the choice is in the air.

What do you get from a spinnaker catamaran:
1. more buoyancy to take larger crew
2. more power (unhh?!!!)
3. Faster by far
4. updated technology
5. exhilarating ride even when the wind is not blowing 15

If you are on the West Coast and want to race choose a Formula 18, great class!
