Sailflow.com is predicting 11 knot winds out of the north. Cool temps in the mid 60s but I gotta get my sailing fix. Anyone else in the area up for sailing off some turkey dinner?

Chad

Other than a broken rudder pin, and sailflow.com being off by a factor of 2, it was a great day. Sailing in the port was good, wind filled in nice, then got pretty strong. Right after the starboard rudder pin broke, and made steering the boat back to shore difficult the harbor patrol came by to tell us that it was windy (about 22kts). The sun was shining, and everything else was great. We let the patrol know that we were about done for the day anyway, and put it in to the beach. Finished off the day with an awesome barbecue.

Next weekend Santa Barbara.

Are fires still allowed on the beach at Port San Luis?

Fires are still allowed on the Old Port beach where the launch is. They have big steel fire rings every 30 yards or so. You just have to watch out for the spring tide. The high surf on friday made its way around the breakwater, and there was wet sand up past the fire rings.
