I noticed my mast stepper has begun to wear on the base of the mast bearing holder. It appears that the mast is sitting too low on the bearing. There is also a wear mark from the screw that holds the mast bearing in place. The mast bearing can be lifted up so there is a 0.1" gap underneath. This seems to be enough of a space that the head of the screw is not fully conceled by the bearing allowing it to wear in the mast stepper cap. The bearing itself looks good with only some minor wear. Attachd is a link to pictures of the bearing. The dimensions are: height 0.52", base width 1.41". I am thinking about placing a 0.07" delrin spacer beneath the bearing to raise it to the correct height. Is this a bad idea? Do i just need to get a brand new bearing? What are the dimensions of a new bearing? Is there some other adjustment that i am not aware of?

(See URL in the next reply)

Thanks,
Jason

Time for a new bearing. Get the one with the teflon chip included. Grease the parts and assemble. No squeek and will bury the screw head so it doesn't contact the hinge / cup.

# 1132 $9.70 in the 2005-06 Catalog page 42
