I've only made a couple of mods since our Lake trip. I finished up buy'n the same camera as you. Love it. And it's also beer resistant which I found out at the weekend.

Also got to sort out fixing the inner edge near the forward hatch.

If the sprayskirt is going to be permanent, I would just used a wire-tie on each side to attach the inner rope to the front hatch bungee (close to the hull). If removable, I wait to see what you come up with that doesn't gap.

Also, attaching a small piece of plastic, like from a milk jug where the aka pins rub, will protect the sprayskirt long term from catching and tearing.

Looks quite impressive, black and black!

Yes, I'll probably use some cable ties first up. I've looked at the rub points. I'm deciding on the plastic sewn in, or eyelets.

I'm in. I would prefer Saturday. I know Saturday is a definate. Sunday 80% due to family commitments.
You know the area better than me but on Google Earth, Sandy Bay Rd at Fisher Bay looks like a pretty good place to launch, or am I missing something.

Hey guys, I've had this family thing come up that I can't wriggle out of. I'm afraid I won't be able to make it this weekend. Sorry :( .

Pity you can't make it Chris. We'll have to work on another outing. I'm probably not going to be free until after the new year though.

Knew my scouting missing would come in handy... :)
Pretty sure there's not much access to Fisher Bay. Sandy Bay is nice but there's bit of a sea wall along a fair part of it and parking could be a big issue. The road is pretty narrow and full of no parking signs from memory. I went for a walk along there back in Sept. No a bad spot if you've got a lightweight yak that you can carry but not so good for a heavy AI. Can't remember if there was a parking time limit.

Other option is the huge parking area shown here-

Here's the beach

I parked up near the main gate here and just wheeled my AI down the roadway (shown above) and onto the beach.
Was heaps of room left the day I was there at around 10:30.

Chris at the Sailing Scene told me about your trip and I have replied to CowsGoMoo's email. I store my AI at Wollarha Sailing Club and can easily sail across to Balmoral. Otherwise I can pop it on the Prado and road freight.

Looking forward to meeting up with you

PS. broke a paddle in half and lost a sail stay in Rose Bay this evening - nice winds ;-)

Nice photo's Det.

What software did you use for the map tracking, and the speed vs distance chart?

CGM and Slaughter,
I'm struggling to make this outing as well. There is a chance I can get there, it will depend on what sort of a nightshift I have Friday.
Probably best not to count me in when making your arrangements.
Post the meeting details and if I can make it I'll be there. :)

How does about 0830 at Clontaf Reserve carpark sound for those wanting to meet up at one spot? We can then head toward Balmoral/Middle Head. If Det wants to sail over we should be easy to spot.

8:30 at Clontaft sounds good to me. I'll make my decision to sail over or roof-top portage there on Friday night based on winds forecasts. What direction will you be heading once you launch - in case the winds are not favourable and I am running late where am I likely to intercept you?

The closer it gets to the weekend, the harder it's getting for me to fit in our trip. I have to finish off our house building before our family come out from UK over Christmas so ever weekend is pretty valuable. I'm trying my hardest ie: working nights, but after being all enthusiastic at first, now I'm struggling to make the time. I'll have to make a decision tomorrow night. In the meantime, where abouts can you turn right off Manly Rd towards the Car Park ?
